NEWS

WHO WE ARE

First Nations Neurodiversity is a nonprofit organization founded by and for neurodivergent First Nations people. We work where these two realities meet.

OUR COMMITMENT

OUR MISSION

OUR MISSION

OUR MISSION

At FNN, we work toward the recognition, well-being, and flourishing of neurodivergent First Nations people, today and for generations to come.

OUR VISION

OUR MISSION

OUR MISSION

A future where communities, society, and systems recognize, respect, and value neurodivergent First Nations people.

OUR VALUES

 SELF-DETERMINATION

We are founded by and for neurodivergent First Nations people. What we build, we build from our own realities.

 CULTURAL SAFETY

We ground our work in First Nations knowledge and cultural realities. Respect, recognition, and safety are not additions; they are the foundation.

 HONOURING NEURODIVERGENCE

Our brains, our ways of thinking, feeling, and being are not things to correct or explain. They are gifts that we recognize without hierarchy or stigma.

 THINKING IN GENERATIONS

We carry those who came before us, and we work for those who will come after. Our mental, emotional, and physical well-being is connected to that of our families, our communities, and generations to come.

OUR HISTORY

Our story is rooted in the lived realities of neurodivergent First Nations people, realities that are often invisible where they intersect.

For many of us, the systems designed to support neurodivergent people were not created with First Nations lives in mind, and the spaces designed to support First Nations communities have rarely made room for neurodivergence. We grew up translating ourselves between the two, and we have seen others do the same. First Nations Neurodiversity was founded to transform what the next generation will inherit.

2025

First Nations Neurodiversity took shape from a shared realization among neurodivergent First Nations people: the realities at this intersection remain insufficiently recognized and supported. We chose to respond.

2026

First Nations Neurodiversity is incorporated as a nonprofit organization under Part III of Quebec’s Companies Act.

TODAY

FNN is in its early development stage. We are currently building relationships, establishing our first foundations, and connecting with communities, organizations and partners.
